  2. Hello, I speak Portuguese and I would like you to speak a little slowly so I can get the translation please

  3. Thanks! It's looking more and more possible to create my own jewelry studio

  4. Does this vinegar and salt solution still need ventilation, like being next to a vent or window? Or is it safe to just be around mostly as long as the top is on? I was looking up sparex also, but is this more natural? thank you

  5. Is this like wink? Is this process good for anodization?

  6. Good information, nice job. As my journey begins making the transition from a retired machinist to newbe jeweler, there is a lot to learn. I do bring my tool making, engineering and chemistry experience with me. It's going to be a interesting journey. Thank you for all the videos, the skills you share, these how to and look out for inclusive to the trade skills are a reflection of a confident and talented jeweler. You are doing a great job teaching. Cheers!

  7. @Miina87 says:

thanks for the vid, its very helpful. how long is ok for brass to be in the pickle solution? 10min?

  8. Seems simple enough to begin right now !

  9. Hi, is there a specific temperature you try to get?

  10. im getting a ton of firescale and discoloration on my 300 grade stainless steel when soldering. i have tried sparex and it doesnt seem to touch the firecale. do you have a suggestion for a pickle i can use for stainless that will remove firescale?

  11. does the vinegar pickling solution also need to be disposed of at a hazardous waste disposal, or is that just for the other one?

  12. Frikken perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks from Colville, Randy. Glad I've subscribed

  13. It would be nice to click on a button and turn this background noise off! That kind of noise is probably used in the Guantanamo Bay!
Otherwise, the video would be very good! Thank you.

  14. Ik its been awhile but I just got into jewelry making. If I don't have a croc pot is there anything I could use in the meantime?

  15. Can I use wooden chopsticks in my pickle? I’ve been using them for years but I guess never asked if that was ok?

  16. How many cups of vinegar do I put?

  17. How often should I dispose of the vinegar salt pickle solution??

  18. Hi, I often hear that you shouldn't use a crock with metal, but I notice you do (and what I have available, but I'm worried about used it) have you ever had issues with contamination because of it?

  19. I was just randomly looking up on how to Solder, when The instructor kept referring to the pickle or the pickling and to not mix any other metal other than copper tools to remove your silver from the pickling for it will contaminated it. 😱 Ohh Noo I thought, but what the heck IS Pickling. Hey don’t make fun of me but up until my late 30s I found out that a 🥒 Cucumber in vinegar actually made a pickle. 💁🏼‍♀️ so when I heard them say pickling I automatically thought of vinegar but wasn’t sure until I came across your post. Thank you Very much for confirming my thought that vinegar and a whole bunch of stuff is what pickling is. However, ruining my crockpot ? THATS a whole Nother discussion. 🤨🤔😬🙃😎

  20. I made a mistake and left my pickle pot on over night. The solution is almost dried out. Help. What can I do to fix this?

  21. @23matt16 says:

Dear GomeowCreations, or anyone else who can answer this question for me, it would be very much appreciated: what if I were to use steel tweezers to retrieve my silver or gold from the salt and vinegar pickling solution? Will that contaminate it and/or the piece of jewelry that I’m working on?
Can someone please help me out with this question?? Thank you!!!
Also, I just want to say, great video GomeowCreations!!! It was extremely well spoken and informational. I had no idea how easy it was to create a pickling solution with such simple household items!!
Also what temperature should I set the hot pot to?

  22. Maybe a dumb question, but if the purpose of the pickling is to make sure the surface is clean of any oxidation before soldering, then would pickling still be necessary for pieces that were just sanded?

  23. @tina5670 says:

Ooh, this is a good video for me. THANK YOU!

  24. Thank you, very informative and easy to understand for us beginners. 🙃

  25. what things can i use to replace a crockpot ? and how warm does it need to get? , could i avoid using a pickling solution by sanding/drummer
    thanks ol great one

  26. Hi! I've recently gotten into silver soldering and have started soldering at home. I have the pickling solution from rio grande, and now am wondering about what temp to keep my small croc pot at. Do you know if its ok to turn the croc pot on/off and reuse the pickling solution? Will it matter if I only turn it on when I want to pickle something? Love this video too!

  27. @noxlynn9283 says:

Sorry if this question has already been asked, but how do you pickle steel?

  28. Hello does the salt need to be iodized salt or not iodized?

  29. Daft question but will this work cold or at room temperature, as I don’t have room for the croc pot , just room for a jar ?
    I’m a newbie, so I’m still learning
    Cheers Simon

  30. @luisyvital says:

Is there a stainless safe pickle you recommend?

  31. @kdtrimble says:

vinegar and salt become a hazardous product? or was it just the Sparex?

  32. @BrlU says:

I loved your video also love to learn about zinc and stuf, but i have a question after soldering how long do i need to put my gold or silver in the acid for example if i use vitrex how many minutes to stay and what to look for to understand its ready to go out of the acid bath

  33. Thank you! I just found your channel and your content is amazing!

  34. @PBS-nm1uu says:

what is the temperature you need??

  35. @louisav934 says:

Wil reticulation work ass good with this kind of pickle? 🙂

  36. brother how can I create a solution for electropolishing gold at home, which acid to use, I would appreciate your help since I live in Cuba and there are few resources, my respects, good videos

  37. I have been using Sparex 2 with a baking soda bath to neutralize. I understand that I can save my pickle solution for a long time, but what about my baking-soda water? During Covid lockdown, we’re reducing trips to the grocery store. I’m out of baking soda, but still have the soda/water mixture I used 4 days ago. Will it still neutralize the pickle on my sterling pieces after pickling, or is it dead?

  38. @lolajoe985 says:

Great info thank you! Should you pickle gold FILLED metal when you're done soldering?

  39. Is there a benefit to using a commercial solution vs vinegar and salt?

  40. What temperature do you get the solution to?

  41. what if you don't have a crock pot can you just heat up the vinegar and pour it into a container and then add the salt?

  42. Hi Randy, i did something wrong I think……i did some silver soldering, the pickled it……then a few days later i used the same pickle solution for copper, and the copper turned green, so getting in touch as you might know why this happened? Also when i did the copper one, i'd forgot about the baking soda step, and just left the copper piece to dry, and overnight it went very very green! like it was growing on it, did it go green because i didnt do the baking soda step? i accidently used metal , steel tongs once in the pickle….did that effect it also?

  43. That junk is not junk. Get yourself one platinum electrode. and a plate or ring you wish to plate in copper. And apply electricity. This will clear up the copper, from the solution.

Note: Getting the polarity wrong will only coat the platinum in copper, so switch. * Oxygen and hydrogen are made during this process, so do so in a well ventilated spot. or you could go bang.

  44. Thank you very much for the information

  45. Hi, thanks for the video, I wanted to buy some pickle powder and the jewellery supplier wanted $50kg plus shipping $15, after searching I found out it can be brought from the local hardware store sold as dry pool acid or sodium bisulphate for only $15 for 3kg

  46. If I choose to use pool chemicals, I.e., muriatic acid, what would the ratio of water to acid be?

  47. @norahpayne says:

what temp must your crock pot be at, will a baby bottle heating pot work?

  48. Thank you for your very informative videos! 🙂
If I'm going to use the vinegar pickle, will I have to dispose of it the same way as the Sparex pickle?
