  2. do you have to add lemon? im allergic to citrus

  3. I was canning tomatoes yesterday and when I was half way through notice a sore on the base of both my thumbs, what should I do? Should I throw the whole batch away? I didn't javelin any lemon juice in the house to put I to my jars, I had put my jars into the dosh washer to sterilize them , I'd my tomatoes unsafe now do I need to discard the whole batch?😊

    I don't understand the 'processing step at the end where you submerged the filled jars in water. How long? What temp of water? Or am I missing something.

  12. How do you figure out the length of time to boil them with regards to altitude. I didn’t get that.

    You're a great teacher and did very well with these instructions! However, my wife and I did an exact canning session of tomatoes a couple of years ago and we understand the need to add the lemon juice for the safety of the canned tomatoes however, we were personally shocked that the tomatoes no longer tasted like tomatoes but lemons? We just looked at each other and ask…WHAT are we missing because we considered the canned lemon flavored tomatoes unusable and immediately threw them out and have never canned tomatoes since?
